Brave Exkaiser (勇者エクスカイザー, Yuusha Ekusukaizaa?) is a Japanese animated television series that began in 1990, created by Sunrise under the direction of Katsuyoshi Yatabe, and is the first of the long running Yuusha or "Brave" metaseries funded by Takara and produced by Sunrise.
Story
On a present day Earth that was secretly visited by a group of space police led by Exkaiser who were chasing after an evil gang of energy beings called The Geisters (led by Dino Geist). Upon arriving on Earth, Exkaiser and his team called the "Kaisers" put their spirits into vehicles all over Japan so that they could convert them into transformable bodies for themselves.
Characters
Hoshikawa Family
- Student of Asahi-Dai Elementary School 3rd Grade Class B. He acts as a member of Kaisers starting with having witnessed Exkaiser in garage in his house. he can talk with Exekaiser even in the faraway place through the communication machine of "Kaiser Brace".
- Fuuko Hoshikawa (星川 フーコ, Hosikawa Fūko?): Voiced by Chie Kamishiro
- Elder sister of Kouta. very active girl.
- Father of Kouta. He is editor in chief of Touto Newspaper.
- Yoko Hoshikawa (星川 ヨーコ, Hosikawa Yōko?): Voiced by Ai Sato
- Mother of Kouta. She was peer's senhorita.
- Pet dog of Hoshikawa family. Mario is Chow Chow's crossbreed. Only Mario knows the secret of Exkaiser besides Kouta.
Friend and Alias
- Kotomi Tsukiyama (月山 コトミ, Tsukiyama Kotomi?): Voiced by Chisa Yokoyama
- Kouta's girlfriend. A sweet, a kind girl. Hoshikawa Family is very friendly with her.
- Takumi Kaneari (金有 タクミ, Kaneari Takumi?): Voiced by Chiaki Morita
- Kouta's clasemate. His parents' family is rich, he like to show off the luxury.
- Journalist of the Teito Newspaper. He and Jinichi have the relation like the family.
Space Police Kaisers
Energy beings that came from planet that is called Kaiser Star. All average ages are 12000 years old (It's about 20 years old in the terrestrial age).
Exkaiser
- Great Exkaiser : (Voiced by Show Hayami) : Leader of Space Police Kaisers. he fuses with used sportscar which is a privately-owned car of the Hoshikawa family on the earth. Only Kouta and Mario knows the secret of Exkaiser. Super robot formed by Exkaiser with both of his auxiliary mecha the King Roader and the Dragon Jet.
- King Exkaiser: Super robot union of Exkaiser and the King Roader. This is the series initial primary robot.
- Exkaiser: Space police robot that transforms into a car form. His powered up transformation exchanges the normal appearance of his chestplate for a lion's head motif.
- King Roader: A carrier vehicle that transforms into a flight mode or into a trailer mode that can be pulled by Exkaiser's car mode.
- Dragon Kaiser: Super robot union of Exkaiser and the Dragon Jet.

- Dragon Jet: A large jet that can transform into a trailer that may be pulled by Exkaiser's car mode, or into a large seldom used face-less robot known as Dragon Kaiser. Exkaiser can combine with it in similar fashion as he combines with the King Roader.
Max Team
- God Max : (Voiced by Daiki Nakamura) : A super robot formed when the Max Team combine.
- Sky Max: (Voiced by Mitsuaki Hoshino) : Space police robot that transforms into a jet form. His powered up transformation exchanges the normal appearance of his chestplate for an eagle's head motif.
- Dash Max: (Voiced by Kozo Shioya) : Space police robot that transforms into a car form. His powered up transformation exchanges the normal appearance of his chestplate for a turbine.
- Drill Max: Space police robot that transforms into a twin-drill tank. His powered up transformation exchanges the normal appearance of his chestplate for a pair of protruding Gatling cannons.
Raker Brothers
- Ultra Raker: A super robot formed when the Raker Brothers perform a Symmetrical Docking (called a "Parallel Combination" within the series), wherein each Brother forms a full half of the combined robot.
Geisters
The antagonist characters of Exkaiser who pit their fused monsters of the day against the space police. They are, themselves, living robots of the same type.
- Dinogeist: (Voiced by Shozo Iizuka) : Leader of the Geisters. He transforms from a giant robot, to an allosaurus-like dinosaur form, to a jet mode. He faced Great Exkaiser in a final climatic battle on the moon. While the two proved near equals, Exkaiser managed to overpower him. However, instead of allowing himself to be defeated and captured by Exkaiser, he chose to destroy himself by flying into the sun while Exkaiser could only standby and watch.
- Mad Geister: The fused form of the four other Geisters. It is a humanoid super robot.
- Hormor: The fused humanoid form of two separate Geisters.
- Horngeist: Robot that transforms into a triceratops-like dinosaur form.
- Armorgeist: Robot that transforms into a stegosaurus-like dinosaur form.
- Pteder: A fused form of two of the geisters that resembles a winged centaur.
- Pterageist: Robot that transforms into a pteranodon-like form.
- Thundergeist: Robot that transforms into an apatosaurus-like dinosaur form.
